Walrus Audio is part of a new generation of boutique pedal makers that create stunningly beautiful pedals with equally impressive tones. From overdrive and fuzz to delays, reverbs, modulations and octavers, all of Walrus Audio’s effects pedals are made in the United States and they were one of the early pioneers of the ambient shimmer verb with the Descent pedal.
Their pedals are the result of a collaboration involving musicians, engineers, and artists to create something that both looks and sounds great and are designed with musicians in mind.
Prototypes of the carefully crafted pedals are sent to musicians that Walrus Audio look up to where they give the pedals a test run in the studio and on stage. The musicians then send notes back to Walrus Audio so they can further perfect the pedal and finally release it. They all feature original, striking designs on the casing that distinguish them from other popular manufacturers.
Walrus Audio aims to strike a balance between aesthetic and performance to create guitar pedals that everyone wants on their pedalboard. Their pedals are all inspiring and practical in equal parts and are always pushing the boundaries while providing a strong foundation to work from.
Walrus Audio pedals are known for their famous illustrative artwork and bold colours, which will brighten up any pedalboard. They’re also great if you want to expand your sound - they allow you to discover and experiment with lots of weird and unique tones, but the effects aren’t so out there that they can’t fit nicely into a song.
